Q: Should I call my insurance company before I call a roofing company?
A: Usually not. In most cases it is wise to have us take a look at your roof first. We can make sure the roof is eligible for a claim before you call your insurance company. If there is damage, we will also be happy to meet your insurance adjuster and make sure the specifications of your claim are correct.
Q: Can I get the depreciation back?
A: In most cases, yes. Usually, residential policy claims have depreciation which is initially withheld. Unfortunately, many homeowners never have recoverable depreciation explained to them and as a result, they will commonly miss out of thousands of dollars of their claim. After the work is completed, we will provide your insurance company with all the necessary paperwork which will usually allow you to get ALL of the depreciation refunded!
Q: What if your quote is higher than the insurance company estimate?
A: This is determined by the percentage your insurance company pays. Some policies only cover 50%, thus leaving the homeowner with the balance. Our estimates are reliable and accurate to protect your home.
Q: Are impact resistant shingles good to use when I replace the roof?
A: Yes. While no product is “hail proof”, impact resistant shingles will make it through many minor or moderate hail storms undamaged. This eliminates a claim from your record and means that you won’t have to pay a deductible. Also, many insurance companies give significant discounts on your annual premium if you have impact resistant shingles. Be sure to contact your insurance company.
Q: How long will it take to replace my roof?
A: Typical repairs and replacements take 1-2 days! For larger roofs it may take a couple of days longer, and we secure the roof against the elements at the end of the work day.
Q: How much will a new roof cost?
A: That depends on many factors, including the size of the roof, the style of roofing material you choose (shingle, tile, slate, wood, metal), the complexity of the roof, and level of protection you choose.
Q: Will the landscaping around my home be damaged during the roofing process?
A: We take every precaution to protect bushes, flowers, gardens, shrubs and trees around our work area, including “tarping” to prevent debris from falling on them. Similarly, we try to protect driveways, walkways, patios, etc., by covering them. We thoroughly clean all job sites at the end of every work day, and at the end of each project to protect children and pets.
